WEDDINGS & PARTIES

For the couple, group, or organization interested in creating a one-of-a-kind event at a unique historic venue, Hallockville offers opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else on Long Island. The museum farm is quite different from the standard event venue, with a historical and agricultural context stretching back 250 years, plus the museum farm is surrounded by over 500 acres of preserved North Fork farmland and open space. The venue provides a beautiful and authentic rural setting for weddings, receptions, dances, and other private and public functions. It is a wonderful site for private functions of up to approximately 150 people. Larger public events, such as benefit dinners, receptions and installations can also be accommodated- please call for details. Hallockville is located in the heart of Long Island’s wine country on the North Fork and is in easy driving distance of New York City and the Hamptons on the South Fork. The museum grounds are also a popular choice for the couple looking for a unique setting to capture their special moments, such as engagements, on camera.

All photo shoots must receive prior permission of the museum before taking place. Call us at 631-298-5292 to discuss your event!

All visits to the Naugles Barn must be scheduled in advance. We can not accommodate walk-ins, often due to other events already taking place in the barn. We strive to provide a private atmosphere for all of our private party clients and kindly ask that you get in touch a few days in advance to schedule your appointment.

The Naugles Barn

Built in 1937, the Naugles Barn has been restored for use as an event venue while retaining its historic character. There is room for caterers and entertainment, modern electric service,  and an open floor plan that allows for various table sizes and setups, bands and dj’s. At 1,500 square feet, smaller functions can be accommodated directly in the barn while the use of a tent supplements the barn for larger events. The Naugles Barn has been featured in Style Me Pretty,  Rustic Wedding Chic, TLC’s “Secret Wedding” show, Edible East End and Well Wed Magazine and is the perfect choice for people seeking an authentic and memorable event experience. In addition to the photo galleries linked at the right, Anchor and Lace (formerly Alexis Stein Photography), Caroline Rocchetta Photography, Sherry Pickerell Photography, and  Moho Creative  are just a few of the professional photographers and videographers who have worked here.

Museum Grounds

For outdoor events, the museum grounds at Hallockville offer some of the best views on the North Fork. The preserved natural and farm lands surrounding the museum farm enhance an already beautiful venue that includes historic buildings dating back 250 years. Many couples take advantage of the myriad photo opportunities, including rustic farm implements, retro gas pumps, vintage trucks and historic buildings which serve as unique backdrops.

Fees

There is a standard fee schedule for all private events held between April and mid November, which we will discuss by phone or in person during your visit. Fees for other off-season dates are subject to negotiation. The site fee for private events includes use of the barn interior, the grounds surrounding the barn (for set up of a tent, a ceremony, or lawn games, for example) and the use of a deluxe portable lavatory facility. The venue is rented as a do-it-yourself facility, and the renter will need to contract separately for their tent, tables, chairs and other event rentals, catering, service staff, decorations and any other elements they might need.  Fees for public events are subject to negotiation, based on factors such as compatibility of the event with Hallockville’s mission and other support the renting organization provides the museum farm.

All fees directly support the not-for-profit mission of Hallockville Museum Farm, and the upkeep of 19 historic buildings here on the 28-acre museum  campus.

General Policies

Only one event can be accommodated in the Naugles Barn at a time and availability is subject to Hallockville’s public event schedule. Please call or email to discuss your specific date. A site fee is provided in person during your scheduled visit or over the phone once we have had a chance to discuss the particulars of your event. A non-refundable 50% site fee deposit is required at time of reservation along with an additional security deposit. The balance of the rental fee is due in installments leading up to your event date. The security deposit, less any costs subtracted to cover damage or other losses to the facility, will be returned promptly after the event.

All renters must obtain a Comprehensive General Liability policy that names Hallockville as an Additional Insured with coverage limits specified in the contract agreement between Hallockville and the renter. The renter will provide a Certificate of Insurance at least 30 days prior to the event. The renter’s caterer will also need to provide a Certificate of Insurance.

Self-service of alcoholic beverages is not permitted. Only fully insured caterers or beverage vendors with a liquor license from the NYS Liquor Authority, are permitted to bring and serve alcoholic beverages on site. At your event, all alcoholic beverages must be served by a professionally-trained and TIPS and/or ATAP-certified bartender.

The renter is responsible for obtaining any other permits (e. g., tent) that are required for the event. The museum is located in Riverhead Town, which does require the filing of tent permits through it’s Fire Marshal’s office.
